Changing the intro that plays when you first open thievery

This tutorial is written to let people:

  1. Disable the startup intro. (Speeding up the startup time of Thievery)
  2. Customize the intro so it starts with your favorite map directly.

Important!: Make a backup of your ThAux.ini file. In case you screw up.

Open: Thaux.ini

Open up your ThAux.ini file with your favorite text editor. The file that you need to edit is located in the "System" folder of your Unreal Tournament installation.

You can either do a search for LocalMap=UT-Thievery-Logo-Map.unr or go to line #6. UT-Thievery-Logo-Map.unr is the default intro file. It displays the credit movie.

Speeding up the startup process of Thievery

To speed up the startup of Thievery you can disable the intro and configure it so that it only shows the Thievery Logo. If you want to disable the intro do the following ;

Replace:

LocalMap=UT-Thievery-Logo-Map.unr

With:

LocalMap=UT-Thievery-Logo-Map-Quick.unr

Then save the file and start Thievery.

Customizing the intro so Thievery starts with your favorite map directly

You can also fill in an existing thievery map. So that it loads your favorite map on startup. To do this, change the following line;

Replace:

LocalMap=UT-Thievery-Logo-Map.unr

With:

LocalMap={Insert preferred startup map here}

Ie. LocalMap=Th-Korman.unr

Then save the file and start Thievery.

Now if you start thievery, you start immediately with the map Th-Korman.
